Rebekah Whitaker

Assistant Professor, Communication Arts & Director of Debate

Rebekah Whitaker has been at Union University since 2019. She teaches in and coordinates the Communication Studies program. Whitaker is a member of the National Communication Association and is a member of the International Communication Association. Whitaker’s research focuses on the intersections of interpersonal and organizational communication and communication pedagogy.

Whitaker is married to James, a wildlife biologist for Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency. Together, the Whitakers are members of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoy travel, cooking, and planning activities but taking naps instead.
