Biography
Webster F. Drake, Ph.D., is the chair of the Communication Arts department and the director of the Union Debate Team.

Prior to joining Union University as Associate Professor and of Communication Arts and Director of Debate in 2008, Dr. Drake served as Assistant Professor of Speech and Theater at Mississippi College in Clinton, MS. While at MC, he began their debate program as well as serving as director of the speech and theater programs.

He became the chair of the Department of Communication Arts in 2009. Since its beginning in 2008, the Union Debate Team has won the International Public Debate Association’s championship tournament twice, the novice season-long sweepstakes championship three times, and the varsity season-long sweepstakes championship twice. The team has amassed multiple individual debate and speaker awards as well.
