Assistant Professor, Communication Arts
B.A., Union University
M.A., University of Memphis
Ashley Fitch Blair’s passion is exploring authentic communication as a path to knowledge, connection, and excellence. She coordinates the Public Relations major and serves as the faculty advisor for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) faculty director of Bulldog Communication Group, and chair of the university’s Faculty Development Committee. As an active member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and National Communication Association (NCA), Blair’s research, writing and teaching encompasses social media, public relations, and organizational communication; more specifically how these fields are connected through concepts of authentic digital and interpersonal self presentation. Current research projects are focused on social media: digital identity, classroom pedagogy, and effects on traditional communication models. She fuels these academic passions with a personal one, home roasting and brewing coffee.
Blair is married to fellow academic, Chris Blair. They have two children, affectionately referred to by COMunion alum as the mini-Blairs. Together the Blairs are members of Fellowship Bible Church and enjoy travel, comic books, sci fi movies, fantastically long novels, all things Disney and German board games.
